Primitive tools and technology!

TO BE CONTINUED... I'm definitely a product of this technological era. I carry my cell phone around with me wherever I go. I'm constantly getting things done on my computer.

Despite this attachment I have to 21st Century technologies, I have a slight fettish with primitive tools and tech. There's something about thinking what our early ancestors' thought processes were when they developed the arrowhead to hunt or thought to dig a deep hole in the ground, build a rock wall around it, and send a pail down to retrieve water. Humans are driven by necessity, which introduces innovation. It's fascinating to me!

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

I'm fascinated by the concept of hand-writing! After looking at a bunch of students' work, I've discovered there are only several different "molds" of handwriting that people adopt. Where is this introduced? How do we end up in our respective handwriting molds? Don't we all learn the same basics of handwriting? I'm surprised no one's done research on this… I just might have to.

Basically, I'm wondering why I inherited doctor/boy handwriting…  haha

Handwriting categories I've found:

The Doctor: Looks incomplete, small, and almost undecipherable. Add that to their field-related vocabulary, and that makes everyone completely lost.

The Missionary Elder:

The cutsey American girl:

The perfect Asian:

The computer font:

The messy skaterboy:

The interior designer:

The always fancy: Cursive. All cursive.

The teacher:

The bubble writer:

The tiny print:

Is it kosher to post twice in one day?

So 2 days ago, I finally did it; I signed up on Pinterest.  You know, it was a little anti-climactic though... I don't even know how to 'pin' things to my board. I sat there for a good 10-15 minutes looking at others' pictures. Saw some that I liked.  Saw the button to 'pin' it to my board, but I don't want to pin other people's pictures to my board.  So then I gave up, hah. I think my original intention of signing up was so that I could find some recipes for my new novel idea of compiling a "When I was at college" cookbook.  Eh, it was an experience. The best part is, I have like 5 followers already...I'm not quite sure what's to follow though cause I have a total of 0 pins.

It so it begins...

In 5th grade, wrote silly poems about random things like blue jays, chopsticks, etc.  They were surprisingly quite clever. I changed the lyrics of words around to make them more entertaining and a little more non-sensical. All through high school, I posted all my self-created puns into an AIM profile. Where did my creativity go? Well, I guess it's still in here, somewhere. And thus came about the decision...I need to create a blog. Hopefully this will bring to my memory the silliness of my past and bridge it over to the cleverly and randomness of the present. Welcome to the semi Lew-ny world of Jess.
